MAKE NEW: The Expanding Gospel Movement Among Youth in Cambodia

CRM / Novo is a band of creative missionaries; determined, innovative, and responsive to the Spirit. We are sent to multiply movements of the gospel and to mobilize the church for mission. In everything we do, our hearts look forward to the day when all will be made new. Novo, it means ‘to make new.’

One of the stories that exemplifies this vision to multiply movements in creative ways, featured in CRM / Novo’s introduction video (see below), is a gospel movement in Asia: In Cambodia, when our staff saw that children living on the street loved to worship, they started a worship school. Now these youth have become musicians and leaders, bringing hope to the places they call home.

CRM / Novo shared a special video about this worship movement on the streets of Cambodia in 2017, but the movement didn’t stop there. It has expanded to other cities and flowed into a new youth church plant, where some of these youth are leaders.

MAKE NEW: The Thief Who Brought His Neighborhood to Jesus

CRM / Novo is a band of creative missionaries; determined, innovative, and responsive to the Spirit. We are sent to multiply movements of the gospel and to mobilize the church for mission. In everything we do, our hearts look forward to the day when all will be made new. Novo, it means ‘to make new.’

One beautiful example shared in our CRM / Novo introduction video (see below) is from South Africa: a thief who turned to Jesus went door-to-door asking forgiveness. Now he’s mentoring young men in his township, making disciples among those he previously stole from.

Every Day of My Life [Video]

I started riding motorcycles as a young guy, and I was good at it. The first time I threw a leg over a motorcycle, I was in love. “Oh my gosh, this is it!” It was a long time from that moment until I got saved. I started riding when I was about 12, and I got saved when I was 28. During those years I was having a lot of fun and being coached by some really good people. I had the opportunity to train and gain a lot of experience in being highly mobile over all kinds of terrain: race tracks, desert racing, cross-country. I didn’t realize God was equipping me with what I now call the spiritual gift of mobility. It was exactly what I would need to be able to navigate Cambodia.

Blessed Are You [Video]

During World Wide Conference, Mark Thrash led us in a time of blessing one another. But first he spoke words of blessing over us, blessings modeled after the Beatitudes. The Beatitudes, he told us, were not conditions for who could be blessed, but claims that even people in the most unfortunate situations were truly blessed because of God's presence and the nearness of his Kingdom.

A Time to Speak Blessings

There is something different about intercession and speaking blessings. It’s a different position. It’s a different authority. It’s a different posture. And I think it’s something that God is restoring for this time...

Room at Christ's Table: A Kairos Moment at Conference [Video]

Sometimes God interrupts our plan with his own. One of the things that seemed to be on his agenda for CRM during World Wide Conference was to challenge us to make room for those who are different than us, and repent of any prejudice we were carrying in our hearts. The themes of honor, blessing, and reconciliation for the sake of the gospel emerged over and over again. God got our attention.

Our Revelation 7 Vision [Video]

“I want to continually draw us back to a higher purpose; more than what we do, more than how we do it. The greater design that is at the very heart of the mission of God and is biblically the priority within the mission of God (and why we do what we do), is for the eternal worship of Jesus among the nations, among all the peoples of the earth. And the scope of that ‘why’ is beyond comprehension.

Designed for a Purpose: Discovering Our Why as We Go [Video]

Before she left for Cambodia, we asked Olivia why she felt compelled to go (the video below is her response). Now, at the end of her first year of ministry, we asked her to describe her calling again.

Watch her pre-field thoughts on calling:

God has really given me a particular passion for multi-ethnicity and different cultures, language, and people groups—and given me a real burden for the poor. So, God has called me to do both of those things: to care about the poor and the marginalized, build relationships with them and love them, in cross-cultural contexts. So I’ll be moving to Cambodia and doing just that—seeking to love my neighbor.

Discovering God's Why in Oxford, Part 2 [Video]

With the big picture in hand, God sent me out to answer the second key question: What was he already doing?

Listen as Danny describes two final questions he needed to answer to discover God's why for his ministry...

Discovering God's Why in Oxford, Part 1 [Video]

“Why do we need another American missionary in Oxford?”

This charming question was put to me during one of my first meetings in Oxford with a local ministry leader. We were sitting in his office, lounging on old leather recliners, sipping tea while enjoying the view of Oxford’s prestigious Christ Church College from his window.

I wish I could say I answered him with words of thoughtful wisdom or a thought-provoking question. But I was so rattled and taken aback that I launched into a long description of the many ways in which God had previously used us in London, followed by an equally verbose apologetic for our Oxford presence. He was not impressed, to say the least.

Listen as Danny shares his story of discovering God's vision...
